The 22 year old country-pop artist reportedly raked in around $57 million between May 2011 and May 2012 earning her the Number 1 spot on a Top 10 list filled with female singers. Roland Orzabal wrote the songs Shout, Everybody Wants To Rule The World, Mothers Talk out of wanting to take a stand against everything that was wrong in England circa 1985.
In an interview from Scenes From The Big Chair Roland mentions that Shout is about protest and taking a stand against the things that disturbing to you both politically and socially. In short it was a really big "f--k you" to then British Prime Minister "Iron Lady" Margaret Thatcher.
