Eurythmics And Anne LennoxBand Name Origins:
- I heard a similar story as the previous entry, the only exception being that the duo decided on "eurythmics" as it was a hybrid of "european rythmn" - the way they saw their music at the time; a cross of various elements of the sounds across Europe. Submitted by: craig mac
- the word was defined in the american heritage dictionary as "the choreographic art of interpreting musical composition by a rhythmical,free-style graceful movement of the body in respose to the rhythm of the music." Submitted by: gloria

Story about this misheard lyric by: Joseph Hancharik A friend's mother (a elderly Pennsylvania Dutch, religious woman. Sadly he and his mother are both deceased) kept telling us about this "religious song" she was hearing by the Eurythmics. He replied, "Mom , They NEVER wrote a religious song". She said, "They sure did." And she started to sing it for us, and out came "Sweet Jesus, wait for me..." We excused ourselves, then laughed so hard we cried all the way home. |

Song Parody Fragments:
Who am I to eat split pea?
I shop for the dressing 'Seven Seas'
Everybody's looking for some greens.
Who am I to disagree?
I travel the world and the Seven Seas
Everybody's looking for something.
who am I to purchase Lee's,
Corduroys and dungarees,
everybody's lookin for snug-fits
who am I to disagree
travel the world and seven sea's
everybody's looking for somthing.

Misrhymed Lyrics:
"Sweet Dreams"
The Misrhymed Lyrics: Sweet dreams are made of this
Who am I to disagree? Why They're Misrhymed: Annie really forces the 'this' into 'theees' -- I always thought it was 'these' and found it weird that she would refer to her breasts like that.

Inappropriate Lyrics:
"You Placed A Chill In My Heart"
The Inappropriate Lyrics: Take me to the desert, take me to the sand
Show me the colour of your right hand Why They're Inappropriate: While the chorus (and title) points to hate and fear in a love relationship, the verses on the other hand sound like random psychotic rants about Annie Lennox's strange fixations and have nothing to do with anything else in the song, like this. Firstly, isn't it just going a bit overboard travelling all the way to a desert just to see some sand? Ever heard of a beach, Annie? Secondly, has she got some fetish with differently coloured right hands? And surely she can hazard a guess of the colour just by looking at the person anyway?

Some of them want to be used by you Some of them want to abuse you Some of them want to be abused (Elsewhere in the song..) Have your head up! (Movin' on) Keep your head up! (Movin' on) Why They're Dirty: Sounds like a BDSM fetish to me.
