"Dancing In Berlin" | I wouldn't exactly call it a "vanity song". But it obviously mentions the city of Berlin Germany from which the band took its name (even though the band itself is not actually from there). - Edward |

"Terri Nunn" | "Actress" | Before she was the lead singer of Berlin, Terri Nunn acted. She appeared on episodes of Lou Grant and T.J. Hooker among other shows. She even auditioned for the role of Princess Leia in Star Wars which of course as we all know went to Carrie Fisher. - Edward |

"Take My Breath Away"
The Repetitive Lyrics: Take my breath away
Take my breath away Why They're Repetitive: That's the entire chorus. I looked up the lyrics and the phrase appreared 8 times including the title, but when I hear the song, which has three actual verses, it's the only thing I remember. With the song's slow pacing, I think the title is a description of the song's affect on the singer. (I really liked Teri Nunn & Berlin, but that was not their best. Also, pardon moi for not being humorous)

"Take My Breath Away"
The Nonsensical Lyrics: When the mirror crashed I called you
And turned to hear you say If only for today I am unafraid Why They're Nonsensical: So imagine you're sitting in a room and someone call you into the room to say, "Hey, this mirror just crashed." Your normal response would be "What were you doing when it crashed? Why are you telling me this? Do something! Clean it up!" I guess "If only for today" works because you'll have to go to Home Depot to buy a new freakin' mirror because your house is falling apart and your girlfriend likes to watch mirrors crash. I would be very afraid if I lived in a house with crashing mirrors.

| "Sex (I'm A..)"
The Nonsensical Lyrics: I'm a boy!
Why They're Nonsensical: This line doesn't make sense because lead singer Terri Nunn, a female, sings this line. Unlike other songs by this band (which feature vocals by Nunn only), this one also contains male vocals (I think it's bassist John Crawford); the man and woman alternate singing of the lines. However, in the "I'm a..." lines, the man only sings "I'm a man."

"Sex (I'm A...)"
The Dirty Lyrics: Almost all of them, especially Terri Nunn's lines starting with "I'm a..."
Why They're Dirty: Title defines them all. These are what got the song banned from some radio stations when it first came out.

"The Metro"
The Lyrics: I was on a Paris train
I emerged in London rain ... We spoke of wintertime in France ... I remember the night we walked along the Seine Riding on the Metro Why: The lyrics reference the cities of Paris and London, the nation of France, and the Seine River which flows through Paris.

"Sex (I'm A...)"
The Lyrics: I'm a geisha
Why: Terri Nunn pronounced "geisha" as "gee-sha," not "gay-sha." She was unfamiliar with that word back then.
