Misheard Lyrics Story:
|
"I Want You To Want Me"
Misheard Lyrics: Oh, didn't I, didn't I, didn't I see you cryin'?
Feed another llama on a Friday night, I feel like dyin'. Original Lyrics: Oh, didn't I, didn't I, didn't I see you cryin'?
Feeling all alone without a friend, you know you feel like dyin'. |
Story about this misheard lyric by: Alex According to my logic, the guy couldn't ever get a date, so he stayed home alone on Friday nights, kept company only by his faithful llama, whom he had to feed, having nothing better to do. He was in despair, saying that he was miserable and would go crazy if he had to stay home and feed his llama again that particular weekend. However, I found out that this was not the case when I sang these lyrics in the car with my boyfriend... |

Funny Lyrics:
"Surrender"
The Funny Lyrics: Then I woke up, Mom and Dad are rolling on the couch
Rolling numbers, rock n rollin Got my kiss records out Why They're Funny: Actually, the whole song is funny. But this part just cracks me up. Anyone who's ever seen Rick Nielsen on stage knows he's a riot. But just imagining what his parents must've been like...and knowing they were both opera singers...I don't know. Just the idea of two opera singers having sex on the couch at 3 am while listening to kiss cracks me up!

Nonsensical Lyrics:
"Lookout"
The Nonsensical Lyrics: See you over yonder where the rights are read your name
You search for the riddle to the clue to the river she came... Why They're Nonsensical: This entire verse doesn't even pretend to make any sense...

Misrhymed Lyrics:
"Surrender"
The Misrhymed Lyrics: Mother told me, yes, she told me I'd meet girls like you.
She also told me, 'Stay away, you'll never know what you'll catch.' Just the other day I heard a soldier falling off some Indonesian junk that's going round. Why They're Misrhymed: Ok, bascially most of the song doesn't rhyme. I know it doesn't HAVE to but it just sounds weird. I like the song though.

Insulting Lyrics:
"Surrender"
The Insulting Lyrics: Mommy told me, yes she told me
I'd meet girls like you She also told me stay away you never know what you'll catch. Why They're Insulting: Yikes, Mommy's implying the gal's got some gunk in her trunk (or else where...)

| "He's a Whore"
The Insulting Lyrics: But money's green, like tea and so's her teeth
Why They're Insulting: The song is hilarious, even though it's insulting. He's singing about using an ugly broad for sex and money (he refers to her as 'Moneybags' in the song).

Dated Lyrics:
"Taxman Mr. Thief "
The Dated Lyrics: Taxman, Mr. Heath (he's a thief)
He's looking for run-in, yeah Why They're Dated: Edward Heath was no longer Prime Minister of Great Britain in 1977, when this Cheap Trick song came out. James Callaghan was then the PM ; Furthermore, as Americans Cheap Trick would not have reason to worry about the UK tax system. The song was a tribute to the Beatles' 'Taxman', which did mention Heath (then Leader of the Opposition).
