Misheard Lyrics Story:
|
"Drop Me In The Middle"
Misheard Lyrics: I think I found the recipe for creativity
Pull out your gut then add some lard. Original Lyrics: I think I found the recipe for creativity
Put all you've got, then add some heart. |
Story about this misheard lyric by: Devil Jones Natasha's set to have either a peculiar recipe book or nostrum judging by this entry, which like all her other songs she has a habit of drawling in an annoying moany fashion. I'm pretty certain there are other ways of dealing with creativity besides eviscerating yourself and smearing your excised contents with lard. Much simpler, effective and less painful ways, I must add. |

Funny Lyrics:
"Size Matters"
The Funny Lyrics: Size matters...... But not how you think
Why They're Funny: when i first heard this song i was like OMG! because there's a kinda long pause between the 1st and 2nd lines.

Repetitive Lyrics:
"Pocket Full of Sunshine"
The Repetitive Lyrics: Take me away
A sweet escape Take me away To paradise Why They're Repetitive: It doesn't so much bother me that these lyrics are redundant to the song itself so much that the song is. I mean, if you want to go on a "sweet ascape" "to paradise," I'm sure Gwen Stefani and Sean Kingston would be more than willing to take you...

Nonsensical Lyrics:
"These Words"
The Nonsensical Lyrics: Trying to focus my attention but I feel so A-D-D.
Why They're Nonsensical: A-D-D is short for Attention Deficit Disorder, which is NOT an adjective; so the line is grammatically incorrect.

| "Unwritten"
The Nonsensical Lyrics: Staring at the blank page before you,
open up the dirty window Let the sun illuminate the words that you could not find Reaching for something in the distance So close you can almost taste it Release your inhibitions Feel the rain on your skin Why They're Nonsensical: Nitpick Number 1: How can something be 'in the distance', yet 'so close you can almost taste it'? The 'so close that you can almost taste it' line is awkward enough by itself, even when not amplified by the 'reaching out into the distance' bit. Or could this just be my overly literal mind?
Nitpick Number 2: The weather in this quote is offically nature-defying. How on earth can 100% natural sunlight cure your writer's block one second, and you ask someone to feel the 100% natural rain on their skin the next? Submitted by: Some Guy

Insincere Lyrics:
"Drop Me In The Middle"
The Insincere Lyrics: Oh, I'm coming from the streets of London
What I'm saying happens everywhere Oh, so tryna do something different Something different, don't care Oh, but I wanna be where it's happening Where it's happening (What what what what what) Why They're Insincere: Something different, eh Natasha? These lyrics might hold some verity if she was indeed edge-cutting or musically subversive but as the rest of her album proves, she's still an anodyne pop artist no matter what big rappers she enlists [I use the term 'big rappers' loosely considering in this track it's Bizarre from D12] in order to be more 'hip-hop' and the same goes for her 'street' lingo and really peculiar accompanying accent in the quoted bridge which I guess is supposed to be 'streetwise' too. What makes things worse is that she bangs on in practically every song about how creative she is...about as creative and original as a ballpoint pen. All in all, very exasperatingly phony.
