Parody Song Title:

"Craving For Some Pasta"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Italian food happens to be my weakness. This song is based upon my favorite food and for people who really love pasta, too! I love to dine in my favorite Italian restaurants such as The Olive Garden, Macaroni Grill, and Terazza's (in my hometown) and I always order pasta. Mangia!
[Instrumental Intro]

[Ohhh, yeah, yeah, yeah]

[Interlude]
I got a craving
Got a craving for some pasta
I got a meal that's gonna fill my hunger
Yum mm-mm-mm
Got what I want
I've been starving for them all day
Cheese and sauce on top will make them tasty
Yum mm-mm-mm

[Chorus 1]
I am hungry (I am hungry)
For spaghetti (for spaghetti)
Fettuccine (fettuccine)
And linguine (and linguine)
Have baked ziti (have baked ziti)
Capellini (capellini)
Ravioli (ravioli)
Tortellini (tortellini)

[Interlude 2]
I got a craving
Got a craving for some pasta
I got a meal that's gonna fill my taste buds
Yum mm-mm-mm
Got what I want
It's so flavorful and tasty
Alfredo will drive me oh-so crazy
Yum mm-mm-mm

Ordered a serving
Had a serving full of pasta
I got a plate and I know that it's all mine
Yum mm-mm-mm
Dish that I ate that is gonna inflate me
Ate anything I want it won't let me down!
Oh, no!

[Chorus 2]
I want penne (I want penne)
Macaroni (macaroni)
Manicotti (manicotti)
Tagliatelle (tagliatelle)
Had fusilli (had fusilli)
Radiatorre (radiatorre)
Cavatelli (cavatelli)
And farfalle (and farfalle)

[Hook]
This side dish made of dough
Makes my belly grow
I can't see my toes
Body overload
It fills up my thighs
I will never feel light
I'm fully wide
I'm full of cellulite

[Repeat Chorus 1 & 2]

[Overlapping Choruses and Interludes]

[Uh, yeah...oh...mm]

[Finale]
Italian delight
Pasta's what I like
Had a lifetime supply
I know I'll be alright

Italian delight
Pasta's what I like
I'll eat it in one bite
I'll need to exercise

Great job Christie. I think this would fit well in a commercial for some of the restaurants you mentioned in the top comments, and the pasta list chorus was particularly impressive.
Christie Marie M - November 03, 2008 - Report this comment
Thank you, Ethan! :) I did take marketing classes in college. I thought of buying a pasta maker someday.
alvin - November 03, 2008 - Report this comment
you really did your pasta homework on this one...made me wish it was lunchtime
Christie Marie M - November 03, 2008 - Report this comment
Thank you, Alvin! ;) My friend has his own pasta maker and has a broad knowledge about pasta since he's Italian, taught me everything I know! There's a bunch of Italian stores in my hometown where they sell a variety of pasta there!

Don't forget the Polenta !!
Christie Marie M - November 03, 2008 - Report this comment
LOL!!! Thanks, UnKnownPO! :) I love Polenta, too! That would look good with pasta!! I'm also missing: Angel Hair, Lasagna, Calzones, etc.

Thanks, Andy! :) Glad you enjoyed. You can go to YouTube to listen to that song, or you can click on the underlined hyperlink that says "here" from "To listen to the OS, click here.", at the bottom of the lyrics. Have fun raiding the fridge! Hope you enjoy your meal!

Italian food , and your parody, rock... but where's the pizza?!
Christie Marie M - May 28, 2009 - Report this comment
Thanks, DJ! :) I would put pizza on the menu, but unfortunately I don't have any room for it in my song.
DJ Blaze - May 28, 2009 - Report this comment
That's OK, I'm doing a parody song about pizza anyway. It should be up tomorrow if I finish it today. I'm getting these parodies done at a breakneck pace! By the way, I have 2 quizzes and some of guess that album on Am I Wrong, as well as other stuff on AmIRight. They still haven't added my misheard lyrics, however.

Wow that was awesome! This parody actually made the song worth listening to! Never ending 5's!
Christie Marie M - October 04, 2009 - Report this comment
Thanks, Mare! :) I'm glad you enjoyed this parody and pasta happens to be my weakness as well! I totally concur with you that the OS is worth listening to. Never ending thanks to those 5's!

Hey!! I just thought I'd come check out one of your parodies, since you just joined the MB not too long ago and mentioned you were an author on here. I chose to read this one since I know the OS well and I love eating pasta. In fact, pasta has been one of my favorite foods for as long as I can remember. This parody was awesome and well-paced, so I give it a perfect 5-5-5.

I think we've met on the MB; you may call me Jeffrey.
Christie Marie M - December 30, 2009 - Report this comment
Thanks, Jeffrey! :) Pasta and Italian food are my biggest weaknesses. One downfall is that I have parents (who work in the medical field, esp. my mom who's a nurse) who're always watching my and my bro's diets since we have family history of diabetes and heart problems. I haven't encountered those yet. I also wished I owned a pasta maker as well. Glad you enjoyed!
Serafina - January 06, 2010 - Report this comment
I also love eating Italian food, since I'm Italian and could eat the stuff any day...either at one of the restaurants you mentioned at the beginning or in the comfort of my own home! Sorry to hear that you have a weakness for it, though. Anyway, the pacing was great and the parody was lots of fun to read, so my vote will also be 5-5-5. ;)
Christie Marie M - January 10, 2010 - Report this comment
Mille grazie (Thanks), Signorina Serafina! :) I'm not sorry I have a weakness for it because I love pasta! One of my best friends is Italian and he owns a pasta maker at home, given by his grandparents from Italy. So he makes his own pasta. I especially love pasta with seafood such as shrimp, clams, oysters, and squid. Very tasty. Hope to see you around!

Thanks to P.A.K's official song writer! :)...Is it me, or has this parody gotten popular all of a sudden? Nice of you to comment on this and LOL at your comment! I would if I had my own pasta maker. Glad you enjoyed!

Whenever I see that first line of your parody I want to start singing this song to "I Gotta Feeling" by the Black Eyed Peas, but this was great and now I'm hungry... Thanks Christie! -huffs-

(ABC C & D) Definitely a pasta fan here, as well as one of Christie's parodies, comments and humor (she's pretty cool herself, IMHO). Love the OS, the parody was al dente, and I'm topping off this delicious pasta parody with some 5s.
Christie Marie M - April 17, 2010 - Report this comment
Thanks lots, Mark, Matthias, Tomario, and Andria! :)

Mark - Bon apetit and mangia to ya! In the words of Emilio Estevez from Mission: Impossible: "Hasta lasagna, don't get any on ya!"

Matthias - Glad to have whet your appetite!

Tomario - Glad to educate you with pasta, one of the tastiest Italian treats!

Andria - A very touching comment from you! I've always been a pasta fan! I'm glad to have written this parody! I'll definitely be enjoying those toppings!
Agrimorfee - April 26, 2010 - Report this comment
Didn't realize how simple this song was...and you made it more complicated, in a good way. Very delicious parody!
Christie Marie M - May 02, 2010 - Report this comment
Thanks, Agri! :)...Very belated thanks, that is, because I was away to Florida for 2 weeks. Yeah, a simple song, and I thought I would a little creativity to the lyrics, especially the choruses. I got to admit, it was quite a challenge for me when I wrote this song. Glad you enjoyed.
bobpiecheese - May 03, 2010 - Report this comment
(ABC-CD) With food parodies, the hardest part is coming up with an original comment when the same basic comments have been echoed by everyone. So...what everyone else said. Oh, and 555.
Christie Marie M - May 03, 2010 - Report this comment
Thanks, bobpie/T-COP! :)...I can relate to your situation, especially when I'm late to comment on parodies. I felt as if all the good puns and good comments were already taken. However, I mention "what everyone said" but still think of another thing to add to my comment, although I couldn't make it catchy enough.

Alright CMM, how much you've grown since I read your first parody. Normally I'd say something about repeating choruses, but in this case it works because it's pasta. Hard original song, and a great idea. The pacing was pretty good, and I love the idea of using the crazy choruses for listing popular pastas. Not over the top funny, but great job on a tough song, and great original song choice by the way, I love it when someone takes on a song like this and comes through with flying colors--its easy to fall flat on fast paced songs like this--you stayed up strong.

Thanks, B.A. Dave! :)...Glad you enjoyed and glad to have written this parody! A very tough song indeed and I got to admit that it took me awhile to write this parody. I felt I needed to switch choruses because the OS chorus was repetitive and I thought I'd be creative with the pasta list chorus. As for the pacing, I'm very good at it since I used to write haikus (may be little off topic) and the fact that I used to write parodies during my school years. I also learned to write great parodies from you, Tommy Turtle, and by reading other people's parodies from the most talented authors on this site. Not only are you a great parody artist, you're also one of my best mentors on this site! :)
Abbott Skelding - May 03, 2010 - Report this comment
ABC: Great job! There are a lot of great rhymes to the original song in there. 555 more plates!
Christie Marie M - May 04, 2010 - Report this comment
Thanks, Abbott! :)...Great rhymes indeed! Couldn't be any better than this! And thanks for those plates.
