"Waitin' In Your Welfare Line"
The Dated Lyrics: I walked outta my job about a week ago,
And now I'm sleepin' in a telephone booth. Why They're Dated: Since this song first came out in the 1960s, the earlier generations to hear it were quite familiar with a commonplace thing known as a telephone booth, albeit a challenging place to sleep, as it accommodated a a person rather vertically. But today's younger generations, if they hear this song, might just ask, "What the heck is a telephone booth?". It is something that has almost completely disappeared. Public pay phones were increasingly placed out in the open without booths, and now pay phones themselves have become increasingly uncommon as more people are assumed to have cell phones. I can't remember seeing a telephone booth for years now.
