All too often, a celebrity gets it into their head that now they've reach some margin of fame via a movie or sports, they can also sing! This usually turns out much worse than when singers try to act.

Edd Byrnes | Kookie, Kookie (Lend Me Your Comb) | Byrnes played the character "Kookie" on "77 Sunset Strip". This novelty song (with Connie Stevens) was released in 1959 and climbed to number 4 on the charts. He mostly just talks, but he does sing the refrain that begins, "I've got smog in my noggin". It's not horrible, but there is certainly nothing special about his voice. - Joe Pearson
Eddie Albert | Blowin' In The Wind | He also sang songs on his show "Green Acres". - oldtimer
Eddie Murphy | Party All The Time | I don't think that Eddie seriously considered a career in the music biz. The opportunity to work with Rick James was probably the deciding factor in this venture. - Michael E Cormier
Eddie Murphy | Party all the Time (1985) | - qua006
Elaine Stritch | Zip, The Ladies Who Lunch | Starred in the musicals "Pal Joey", Company", "Follies" and many more, as well as her own Emmy-award winning stage show. Remembered best as a stage and TV actress - KL Fan
Emily Blunt | It Takes Two, The Place Where Lost Things Go | In addition to serious acting roles ("Edge of Tomorrow", "Sicario"), Blunt has also branched out into musicals, first at the Baker's Wife in "Into the Woods" and then taking the lead role in "Mary Poppins Returns". It's hard to tell what her range is, but she certainly carries the songs she's given. - Joe Pearson
Emily Deshanel | Girls Just Wanna Have Fun | She CAN sing, even if it was only a karaoke... with two American Idol contestants on Bones! Go to YouTube and check out the behind the scenes and the actual scene. - Rocky Mak
Emily Osment | I Don't Think About It, Shoebox | She became popular through the TV show Hannah Montana but soon, people realized that she had a much better voice than Miley Cyrus. - Travis
Eric Idle | Meaning of Life Theme, The P***s Song. | He also played Dirk in the Rutles films. - Paul Warren
Evan Rachel Wood | Blackbird, If I Fell | Best known these days for her role in "Westworld", Wood starred as "Lucy" in "Across the Universe", a musical filled with Beatles songs. She has a strong professional singing voice, including a little vibrato. - Joe Pearson
Ewan McGregor | Come What May, Elephant Love Medley | This Scottish actor, made famous by "Trainspotting" and the Star Wars series, featured in Baz Luhrmann's "Moulin Rouge!" as the author Christian. He sings many songs in the film, and actually has pretty good pipes! - Joe Pearson |
