Misheard Lyrics:

Misheard Lyrics:
Valerie, cool on me
Coll on me, Valerie
Original Lyrics:
Valerie, call on me
Call on me, Valerie
Misheard Lyrics:
So coo, she was like jasmine, a summer's day
Using, high and sweet, then she just flew away
Now she can't be that one, with the wind, and her alms
Valerie, come on! Mean! Come on! Mean!, Valerie
Come and seem mean-I'm the same boy I used to be
Original Lyrics:
So cool, she was like jazz on a summer's day
Music, high and sweet, then she just blew away
Now she can't be that warm with the wind in your arms
Valerie, call on me-call on me, Valerie
Come and see me-I'm the same boy I used to be
"While You See a Chance"

Misheard Lyrics Stories:

"Don't You Know What The Night Can Do?"
Misheard Lyrics:
Don't you know about the Mountain Dew?
Original Lyrics:
Don't you know what the night can do?

Story about this misheard lyric by: Mabel Hampton

I am fairly interested in the various soda drinks available, and my selective hearing has fooled me again. While browsing my laptop with MTV Classic playing, this song came up and this caught me completely off guard. I had to replay on my cable box at least 3 times before I made the connection what the lyrics were. I literally couldn't unhear "Mountain Dew" and then when the end title came up, I was like "...oh."

"Roll With It"
The Repetitive Lyrics:
Roll with it baby...
Why They're Repetitive:
We counted once, when I was in junior high, and he says that phrase 46 times in the song. We get the point, already...

Nonsensical Song Lyrics:

"Don't You Know What The Night Can Do"
The Nonsensical Lyrics:
When the night comes, you better let it in.
Why They're Nonsensical:
What Steve is implying is that the night will be coming to your door, but the real meaning of "when the night comes" means when the night OCCURS, not when it comes knocking at your door. Even if the night DID come to your door, you couldn't let it in. Also, the title describes something that's literally impossible. The night can't actually "DO" anything. ;-D
