Story about this misheard lyric by: Lisa Williams

Because of poor enunciation in recordings, I thought it was "Madame Rue." I've seen here and elsewhere that it's "Madame Rue," but it's a Leiber and Stoller song, from Smokey Joe's Cafe, and I found that sheet music on the Web. And the sheet music itself says "Madame Ruth."

Nonsensical Song Lyrics:

If you wanted a star that shines so brightly
To match the stardust in your eye
I would chase that bright star nightly
And try to steal it from the sky
Why They're Nonsensical:
How can you steal a star from the sky?
