Bonnie Tyler's, "It's A Heartache"
The Lyrics:
It's a heartache
Nothing but a heartache
Love him till your arms break
Then he'll let you down
Why:
It has an upbeat beat and is very danceable (a matter of fact it appeared on many shows of the time that featured disco dancing -- including, but not limited to "American Bandstand" and even in discos). But it is by far one of the most depressing songs about a woman loving a man I can think of. Just these lyrics listed here, which are the second verse and also are repeated near the end of the song, would probably turn most women away from loving a man with the fact that Bonnie suffers from her love for a man with actual physical harm (her arms break - poor woman) when he lets her down.
