In the original version, Harry Chapin was singing about nursery rhymes and childhood imagery when he mentioned Little Boy Blue and the man in (not on) the moon. As most of us know, the man in the moon is the "face" that people imagine they see when they look at the full moon. But apparently Ugly Kid Joe thought the song was referring to Neil Armstrong's 1969 lunar landing ... which doesn't quite pack the same magic as the notion of gazing at the moon with your young kid.
