(What's The Story) Morning Glory? album at Amazon.com
Wash your face in the morning sun,
flash your pan at the song that I'm singing
Touch down bass living on the run,
make no sweat of the hole that you're digging.
These guys were writing some horrendously poor lyrics when they put this album together. What is this supposed to mean? It's just vague rhyming.

Oasis',
"Champagne Supernova"
Slowly walkin' down the hall,
Faster than a cannonball
Slowly and Faster are antonyms, so it's another nonsensical oxymoron.

Slowly walking down the hall
Faster than a cannonball
As others have pointed out, this doesn't make the least ounce of sense! Really, how slow is a walk that is faster than a cannonball?? Not very slow at all! And furthermore, I'm sure that cannonballs move pretty darn fast.

Oasis',
"Champagne Supernova"
Some day you will find me caught beneath the landslide
In a champagne supernova in the sky.
Is this supposed to mean something?? I just don't get it.

I'd like to build myself a house out of plasticine
Plasticine is basically clay... so unless Noel is taking about an impossible task, I doubt he's going to have much luck with that wish.

Take me away, just for today, 'cause I'm sat here on my own
I'd like to be under the sea, but I'd probably need a phone.
It just sounds terrible, it's quite a nice sounding chorus until Noel ruins it with his determination to get the word 'phone' into every song he writes. Oh yeah, and how is a phone supposed to work underwater?

After all, you're my wonderwall
This song has always done my head completely in. What are we meant to deduce from a line like this? That he's likening his girlfriend to a wall? That she's his wonderful metaphorical wall against the blues inflicted by life? Or what, exactly? Either I'm missing something, or someone was smoking the wrong brand when they wrote this.
