Real Lyrics -> Inappropriate -> Traditional

These are lyrics by Traditional that we think are kind of inappropriate.

Check out the index or search for other performers.

Traditional's, "Cotton Fields"
The Inappropriate Lyrics:
It was down in Louisiana,
Just about a mile from Texarkana.
Why They're Inappropriate:
Actually, Texarkana is about 30 miles from the nearest point in Louisiana.

Traditional's, "Iko Iko"
The Inappropriate Lyrics:
He's not a man he's a loving machine
Why They're Inappropriate:
This is a political song, so this line doesn't really fit.

Traditional's, "In My Merry Oldsmobile"
The Inappropriate Lyrics:
You can go as far as you like with me
In My Merry Oldsmobile.
Why They're Inappropriate:
Wasn't this song written when it was more likely that the guy's footprints would be found upside down on the dashboard of a horse-drawn buggy? Maybe I should get my mind out of the gutter. :D

Traditional's, "Shepherds, Shake Off Your Drowsy Sleep"
The Inappropriate Lyrics:
Shepherds, shake off your drowsy sleep.
rise and leave your silly sheep.
Why They're Inappropriate:
Why does the birth of Jesus make their sheep silly?

Traditional's, "The First Noel"
The Inappropriate Lyrics:
Then entered in those wise men three, full rev'rently upon their knee
Why They're Inappropriate:
Peculiar! Since 'knee' is singular, this implies that somehow all three wise men were kneeling on one knee that somehow belonged to all three of them!

Traditional's, "The Most Wonderful Time of the Year"
The Inappropriate Lyrics:
There'll be scary ghost stories and tales of the glories
of Christmases long long ago...
Why They're Inappropriate:
What the hell do scary ghost stories have to do with Christmas? Ghost stories are told around the campfire in the summer, not on the holidays!

Traditional's, "The White Cliffs Of Dover"
The Inappropriate Lyrics:
There'll be bluebirds over the White Cliffs of Dover
Why They're Inappropriate:
Not likely. The name bluebird applies to either the Fairy Bluebird, a species of the East Indian region, or to any of three North American species of the genus Sialis. None of those range anywhere near England, where the White Cliffs of Dover are located.

Traditional's, "They Were Only Playing Leapfrog"
The Inappropriate Lyrics:
One fat flea flew up the flue as another fat flea flew down
Why They're Inappropriate:
Contrary to an apparently popular belief, which must have inspired this line, fleas have no wings and cannot fly. The name of the taxonomic order to which they belong is 'Siphonaptera', meaning wingless suckers, reflecting their flightlessness. They can jump considerable distances, perhaps contributing to an illusion that they fly.

Traditional's, "When the saints go marching in"
The Inappropriate Lyrics:
when the saints go marching in
Why They're Inappropriate:
like what the dude the saints are marching in? whats up with that man

Traditional's, "White Christmas [in sometimes included intro]"
The Inappropriate Lyrics:
There's never been such a day
In Beverly Hills, LA.
Why They're Inappropriate:
'Beverly Hills, LA' is in the form of a [city],[state] address. In such a form, 'LA' is the abbreviation for Louisiana. But I very seriously doubt that the song means to refer to Beverly Hills, Louisiana, even if there is such a place.
