Why They're funny:
This is funny because the title line is ambiguous. I suppose it is meant to say "i was made (i.E. created) for the purpose of loving her. but the title line by itself could just as easily mean "i was forced to love her". as chance would have it, I've always tended to hear it the latter way, and think he's saying that he was coerced into loving her, before I catch myself and think, oh but that isn't what the song means to say.
