The Lyrics

This swipe at Bush political czar Karl Rove would have been my shortest parody ever -- maybe the shortest in Amiright history, but as a Yankee Fan I've learned this week that History can be an unfaithful mistress -- but to properly pace "Row, Row, Row Your Boat," you've gotta do it in a "round."
Rove, Rove, Rove, your vote
he would like to screen.
Scarily, scarily, scarily, scarily.
He is oh-so-mean.

1: Rove, Rove, Rove, your vote
2: (Rove, Rove, Rove, your vote)
1: he would like to screen.
3 : (Rove, Rove, Rove, your vote)
2: (he would like to screen.)
1: Scarily, scarily, scarily, scarily.
3: (he would like to screen.)
2: (Scarily, scarily, scarily, scarily.)
1: he is oh-so-mean.
3: (Scarily, scarily, scarily, scarily.)
2: (he is oh-so-mean.)
1: Rove, Rove, Rove, your vote
3: (he is oh-so-mean.)
2: (Rove, Rove, Rove, your vote)
1: he would like to screen.
3: (Rove, Rove, Rove, your vote)
2: (he would like to screen.)
1: Scarily, scarily, scarily, scarily.
3: (he would like to screen.)
2: (Scarily, scarily, scarily, scarily.)
1: he is oh-so-mean.
3: (Scarily, scarily, scarily, scarily.)
2: (he is oh-so-mean.)
3: (he is-oh-so-mean.)

This is the first time I've seen a round on this site! Great job!

Karl Rove actually attended high school here in Salt Lake, and I read an editorial in the paper yesterday written by one of his former classmates. He said that he has never known anyone that was so intent on using dirty tricks to gain political advantage before, and that he's been doing it since he was a kid. Pretty interesting stuff...

I tried this, unsuccessfully, back in June. http://www.amiright.com/parody/misc/unknown14.shtml This one works.

Eight more days, eight more days. And the world will be a better place, and the world will be a better place for you and me just vote Ker-ry. Kicking the moron out of the office he was placed in by the Supreme Court is going to be better than the Yankees losing to the Red Sox. Eight more days, eight more days.

Clever wordplay, topical, well-paced--and darn good handling of the "round" aspect. 5's all round, no pun intended!

...eh? I don't get it. Call me an ignorant Australian, I thought this was going to be a parody on Rove McManus, Aussie TV icon. Can somebody please explain this 'round' business to my pathetically moronic self? Is it like when idiotic band campesque leaders divide the audience into threes and each group starts one after the other?

By the way, if you want to talk about the 'shortest in AmIRight history', I suggest you check out this baby: http://www.amiright.com/parody/misc/traditional476.shtml

Since AFW didn't allow comments on his (I don't know why, it's awesome), let me post the link here and say it was a damn good sequel to mine: http://www.amiright.com/parody/60s/traditional8.shtml. See also this John Barry tune: http://www.amiright.com/parody/misc/unknown14.shtml
