A crew went down to the Park one day
and couldn’t believe their eyes,
which viewed a sight that sparked their dismay;
it was a fright’ning surprise.
They found a bear that could have been stuffed
after by a dump truck it was snuffed…
taken away right after the deadly pickoff.

Many dead bears pulled from the road
make a tasty, great buffet.
It’s such a wonderful treat to eat;
stuffed tummy then full will stay.
Beneath a tree, freaked-out people see
bear on the ground, deceased as can be.
No one dares go snare it for dead-bear pickup.


Pickup drives are deadly where
they’re hit with death, these bears
as over the road they cross their way.
Watch out, stare, and drive with care,
or you might strike them in an auto-slay.

See them too late…mow them down;
to pavement they’ll be pounded;
some drivers snare food fare.
They park their cars/trucks, run out and grab ’em—
because they’re still fresh, though dead—
then whisk off, whistling “Teddy” air.

It happens in the woods, in the main,
because that’s where ursines roam.
Vehicles swerve into them—they’re slain;
road gourmets ferry them home.
Stretch the skin, turn it into a rug—
One man does that; he must be on drugs.
He salivates, awaits a deadly bear pickoff.
The lane ain’t straight; racing is a shred-bear pickup.
Bobby’s heart races, paced for a dead-bear pickup.
