Parody Song Title:

"I Came Upon Old Paul Revere"

Parody Written by:

Michael Pacholek

The Lyrics

A patriotic parody celebrating a great event from America's past, to the tune of a Christmas carol? Why not?
I came upon old Paul Revere.
That glorious chap of old.
In Boston, propagandist sublime
and smither of silver and gold.

Peace on the earth, he could not have.
The British would not let it be.
So looked did he to the Old North Church:
Two lanterns, coming by sea!

He road across to the Cambridgeside
He yelled, "The regulars are out!"
No independence 'twas yet declared
so "British are coming," no spout.

He warned Sam Adams and John Hancock
and soon those guys were escaping.
And Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
about him one day would sing!
