| Parody Song Title: | "Alt. Things Bright and Beautiful" |
| Parody Written by: | Barry J. Mitchel |
Our Earth must have been a far better place in 1848 when the original words were written. This parody includes the dark side for a more balanced view. Odd stanzas use the refrain melody. For original lyrics, visit http://library.timelesstruths.org/music/All_Things_Bright_and_Beautiful/ or http://www.cyberhymnal.org/htm/a/l/allthing.htm or refer to a hymnal.
All things bright and beautiful,
All creepy things that crawl ...
Some despised, some hungered-for,
The Lord God made them all.
Each pit-bull jowl that opens,
Each killer bee that stings,
God made their gnawing molars,
God made their spiny wings.
Food that's lite and plentiful,
Sale features at the Mall,
Super-sized and wonder-filled ...
Afforded, paid by all.
The bubbling dreaded mountain,
The river running dry,
The snow-squall without warning
And lightning from the sky.
Folks upright and dutiful,
Like preachers, straight and tall;
Sermons prized and thunderful ...
The bored nod; strayed them all.
The cold windshield in winter,
The parching summer sun,
The vine roots in the garden,
God laid them every one!
Such things frighten ev'ry fool
Beseeching Fate not befall.
That denies their Sunday School;
The Lord's gon' grade them all.
God gave as guides to freedom,
Ten Tips that teach right well.
Their plate is laden lightly,
Who let staid faith indwell.
God devised laws suitable
For creatures great and small.
These truths are inscrutable;
The Lord God made them all.
All creepy things that crawl ...
Some despised, some hungered-for,
The Lord God made them all.
