Song Parodies -> "The Tale Of Blake's Cooking Skills"

Original Song Title:

"The ABC Song"

Original Performer:

Traditional

Parody Song Title:

"The Tale Of Blake's Cooking Skills"

Parody Written by:

Jason

The Lyrics

I really wanted to do a parody of the ABC song that matches the original song's pacing as closely as possible, without doing a "list" of words simply starting with each letter.
Blake, deep-freeze cheese
Poor chef he
High-dry baked cakes
(english breakfast tea)
Soup-jar-mess
Tea-goo
He
Bubble-stew
Wrecks
Wine and Brie

Now we know why Blake can't cook
He should read a cooking book.

Excuse me Maxi Moroni, If you go through the other ABC Song parodies on this site, you will see that there is another parody written in a similar vein to this one. Its by Kristof Robertson and is called "The Tale Of Abe's Incarnation". It was THAT parody that inspired me to write my own take on the ABC song which MATCHED THE PACING of the original song, just like Kristof Robertson's. And have you seen the other so-called 'parodies' of the ABC song? They are simply "lists" of this and that beginning with each letter put together with no tune. Since you can't sing along to those I don't class them to be parodies.

Yes, there are a couple other 'so-called parodies' of this song that are lists; I have reported them to Chucky G and the admins, so they'll be taken care of. This one, however, is definitely a parody, so I think you're safe here.

Thank you Mr. Critic. However I would have appreciated some votes as well as feedback :-)

Excellent, Jason...only the second "proper" parody of the ABC song, and what a dang fine one it was too (It's pretty hard to do, isn't it ?). So a big, BIG set of 5s for you, sir!

p.s. Maxi Moroni. Not only are you wrong (the ABC song is short, but a complete song), pedantic (why would you bother?)...but you also can't count. I tallied 12 lines here (OK, two lines consist of only one word, but take them out and I still count 10)..lighten up, will ya?

Thanks Kristof!

I did vote. What makes you think I didn't?

Sorry Mr Critic my mistake. I was just annoyed with Maxi Moron's (sorry Maxi Moroni's) comment. And I wish the "list" parodies of the ABC song were deleted.
Red Ant - October 29, 2006 - Report this comment
Indeed, this is a "proper" parody of the ABC song, and it is harder to do than you'd think. Well done, Jason. 123 (j/k, I gave you 5s).

(ABC3) A little confusing at first, but extremely clever!! Fitu P. could learn a lot from your exercise.

You must have worked for Barth's Burgers, the greasy spoon made infamous by Nick's "You Can't Do That on Television" in the '80s.---MM

(ABC3-T) Bits of it didn't make sense, but the whole concept was just brilliant!

(ABC) Short, but sweet to taste! Nice job, Jason.

(ABC3T) that is great Jason, and deserves its 555 on the "(english breakfast tea)" alone - lol
Rick C - March 26, 2007 - Report this comment
(ABC3T) Short but sweet, Jason. 555. I should probably read that cooking book myself. :-)

(ABC) HA!! That is GREAT! No kidding, 555!

(ABC3T) Glad I inspired you to do this one, Jase. Brill effort on an almost impossible OS (and I should know...) Whatever happened to Max Moron...I mean, Moroni? ;-)

(ABC3-T) Believe it or not, this is perhaps one of the hardest songs to do well: I think there are only 3 proper parodies of it on the site. Kudos for tackling something so deceptively difficult, and C A BUV!

ABC...hee! Very short and sweet...I liked it!

Short, but I was impressed once I read it. Well done.
