Parody Song Title:

"Unavailable (caller ID)"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

One of my pet peeves is pollsters, telemarketers and political canvassers who use unlisted phone numbers. Those selling a product, service or candidate prefer credit cards to your pledge that they must collect by snail mail. I used this love song to express my feelings about them.
"Unavailable" your call I.D.
"Unavailable" is all I see
Like a wrong old love that clings to me
Now the thought of who buzz-rings for me
Stops me before I pick up once more

Unidentified, you call each day
Plan a clever story, hope I'll pay
That's why, caller, I'm in dread of you
But with I.D., I'm ahead of you
Think that I am done with credit bills due

"Unavailable" soon leaves display
And, you clever bore, that's how you'll stay
That's why, caller, it's unfailable
That someone so unavailable
Finds that I am unavailable too

In line 3, "that clings to me" could be "who [swings/flings] at me" or "threw things at me" instead.
