Once upon a time, many years ago - around 1970 - there was a generation that wanted to simplify life. They appreciated the beauty of nature rather than man made wonders. They believed the human race was becoming dependent on their own machines, so they got back to basics. Then came cel phones, computers and the internet. Their children were raised on it and it became a way of life. The rest is history.

So many Boys
Are hooked up to their high tech toys
They say they travel to the ends and make friends
While they stay home
So occupied
And bleary eyed
Computer wise
Alone.

They while away
Text messaging their lives away
They roam about thru cyberspace, everyplace
On the internet
The latest poop
You'll never find
Without I phones
And being logged
Online.

And then one day
A strange E mail came their way
It said, "Get up offa that thing, float downstream,"
"Go out and play!"
Strawberry fields
Blast from the past
Are something real
Here's the sun
At last.

Don't get me wrong. I think cel phones and the internet are lifesavers, but when they become recreational that's a problem.

Thanks, Old Man for welcoming me back. I haven't forgot Am I Right. I have been busy with other projects and had this flu that lingered on. It made it difficult to sit at the computer for long.

An all time favorite song. Bowie and Massive Attack did a great version of this for Moulin Rouge. And I really liked what you did starting with the techno premise and then finishing with some retro Beatles. Very well thought out, and a pleasure to read.
