Song Parodies -> "Rosen Was Nosin'"

Original Song Title:

"Moses Supposes"

Original Performer:

Gene Kelly

Parody Song Title:

"Rosen Was Nosin'"

Parody Written by:

Barry J. Mitchel

The Lyrics

Press Secretary Jay Carney would say that "this happened a long time ago." The Department of Justice obtained the phone records (and who knows what else) of Fox News's Washington Bureau Chief and his parents, then fingered him as a possible co-conspirator in a leak of classified information about North Korea's nuclear capabilities being more advanced than the Administration had admitted. The original dance patter is from the musical movie "Singin' in the Rain."
Rosen was nosin' as rose Kim's aggression;
James Rosen was nosin', there only was he.
Holder grew bolder, kept folder suppressin'
James Rosen's exposin', opposin' Press free.
Rosen was nosin', his chosen profession;
James Rosen was nosin' where lonely was he.
His nose it arose!
He stows what he knows,
Then shows it in prose,
Scoops de dudes who doodle!
Frozen as snows in ice floes was disclosin',
Till Holder was scolded by Bill O'Reil-ly.
Now hold 'em or fold 'em? He'll fold, I'm supposin',
Proposed on the shows of fair Sean Hanni-ty.
Rosen
(Rosen's deposin' his chosen exposin')
Rosen
(Rosen's imposin', scared no way was he)
Rosen
Holder was scolder of Rosen's disclosin',
But Holder had sold out our old Constitution.
From shoulder to shoulder, Sir Holder was colder
Than Putin disputin' Aleuts in Aleutians.
Couldn't be more silly than a laughing, gaffing Willie.
It's not verse free or prose, cuz it rhymes and flows!
Rosen!
Rosen!
Rosen!

Easily my favorite of the day. Just like AFW said, your rhyming was subliming. Great word choices too.

Thanks, AFW & WB; you made my whole effort worthwhile. (I spent a week refining this.)

BJM - This was the only original song in Singing In The Rain (the rest had been written long prior to the film). Excellent job and bonus for song selection. ;D

Thanks, OMR; almost all Gene Kelly parodies on amIright are of the title song. As usual, you know its history better than I. I especially enjoyed word-subbing "erroneously" twice in TOS.

Very, very clever. I didn't know the story, but you actually managed to get the meaning in there while sticking to one of the more complicated rhyme schemes around. Major kudos :-D

..just trying to think up a nice sub to do this one myself
