Parody Song Title:

"Heart Shaved Box"

Parody Written by:

Red Ant

The Lyrics

She shaved it with a razor and, foamy cream
And she wound up with a Heart-Shaved Box, po-or me
Forrest gone she's nude I am in shock, sho-orn trap
I wish she'd remained au-natural, please grow back

Hey! Wait!
Put down that razor blade!
Your lover's impressed by the prize near your thighs
Hey! Wait!
Put down that razor blade!
Your lover's distressed by this slight oversight
Hey! Wait!
Throw out those razor blades!
Forever I wept to this shaving device...
Wasn't nice...

Cunning linguist shorted forgive? No, not just yet
Wait until the carpet's there and may-be... then
"Grow your garden?" "No" my princess she, said back
Picked up her Lady Gillette and then she, to-ok a whack!

Hey! Wait!
Put down that razor blade!
Your lover's impressed by the prize near your thighs
Hey! Wait!
Put down that razor blade!
Your lover's distressed by this slight oversight
Hey! Wait!
Throw out those razor blades!
Forever I wept to this shaving device...
Wasn't nice...

[solo]

She trimmed it with her razor and, foamy cream
And she left it as a Heart-Shaved Box, fo-or me
Forrest gone she's nude I am in shock, sho-orn trap
Still wish she'd remained au-natural, please grow back

Hey! Wait!
Put down that razor blade!
Your lover's impressed by the prize near your thighs
Hey! Wait!
Put down that razor blade!
Your lover's distressed by this slight oversight
Hey! Wait!
Throw out those razor blades!
Forever I wept to this shaving device...
Wasn't nice...
No entice...
No disguise...

now where did this idea come from, Red Ant? - LOL - I enjoyed your initial comment, but I enjoyed this "fleshed-out" parody even more! - 555

Thanks Stu, and yes, your Friday entry "Simon Shaved My Wife Tonight" inspired me to do this-forgot to credit you in the opening comment-then again, I wasn't sure if you wanted to be credited with this lol. My parodied comment just took off after I wrote it- which is good b/c I've wanted to do this OS for ages and couldn't come up with anything. That's another reason it is good to comment on others' parodies; you can give yourself ideas. ;-)

Is it just me or is it a general truth that you know you hang out to much at AmIright when you know from what previous parody from a couple of days ago an author has gotten the inspiration? Even before you get it confirmed by said previous author I mean, :-)

555, very funny. I've always had a weakness for racier parodies(which is why I've submitted a few myself).
Red Ant - November 08, 2005 - Report this comment
Thanks Peter and Step-chan.

Peter, I think you have something there. As long as you don't remember the exact URL of the parody though you're still sane and have a life. =)

Awesome parody man. Love your stuff. Everyone I have seen of you is good, or at least not bad. Keep it up.

"still sane and have a life"... dammit, I'm not trying hard enough! :-)
Red Ant - November 11, 2005 - Report this comment
Thanks Huff, I take it you don't comment much though. =)

Peter, I think I'm borderline on both of those points. :-)

very well done Red Ant, there aren't that many parodies of this OS, but yours is one of the best I have ever read, (even better than mine lol). and for those who had not read mine I shamelessly plug this to you. it is not as good as Red Ant's but anyway here it is: http://www.amiright.com/parody/90s/nirvana193.shtml

Thanks 'parody man'.

I took some misheard lyrics from Allah Paula Cheese to make my own misheard parody of All Apologies. Have you planned on writing a "misheard" version of Heart-Shaped Box?
Red Ant - May 04, 2006 - Report this comment
No, I hadn't, Mr. P. Someone did a misheard theme on Heart Shaped Box a while ago, though I'm sure there are enough new lyrics now to make a completely different parody.

(ABC4) Always a risk repeating choruses 'round here...great work, though, Red.
Matthias - November 29, 2007 - Report this comment
Kinda repetitious, but still a good idea, and risque which what I love about your work.
bobpiecheese - December 08, 2007 - Report this comment
(ABC4H) As much as I love your misheard-Nirvana parodies, this one is still awesomness, if a bit risque.
stuart mcarthur - December 11, 2007 - Report this comment
(ABC4) that's right, I remember this one linking to my Simon Shaved My Wife Tonight, Jack, as I see by the comments. This was a very good idea, and good lines, but the fact it's really only 1 chorus and 2 verses and the rest was repetitions of those detracts from it as a medal-earner - great lines though

ABC- I actually had an ex that loved to shave her 'forest', this brought back memories. I always love a good risque parody, and this was very well done, Ant.

ABC(H) Hmm-Sounds like you got boxed in. I heart this.
Kristof Robertson - December 12, 2007 - Report this comment
(ABC4H) This certainly was an eye-catcher, Jack...but Stu has a point about the repetition...great for recording, but loses a bit for the reader
Below Average Dave (badave.com) - December 12, 2007 - Report this comment
Originality (A) Not an idea I would have ever come up with, but then again I think that's a given Pacing (A) Amazing on your pacing here, would be easy to perform, and it's in your vocal range (I know that's unrelated) Comedy (C) Well, the idea is hilarious, but the song is hard to really rock out, still the verses were amazing, and varying choruses in this song would be confusing from a recording stand point. I also happen to know this isn't just a parody for you, it's also your personal opinion:) The X Factor (B) I think that while some might see this as risky, I see it as honesty and bravery. I myself would likely never write a parody quite like this, and so for that alone I applaud you. This isn't my favorite parody by you, but like always you aren't afraid to take on any topic. Besides, I've seen far more risky parodies, and this would not likely be censored if it ever got played on the radio.

Thanks Aggy, Matt, T-Cop, Stu, Mikey, Guy, Kristof and Dave!

Dave, there is no backing track available for this one that I know of, but it would be easy enough to perform *looks at first comment date*... I started really tightening up hte pacing of my parodies maybe a month before this was released. Thanks for the in-depth comment: much appreciated!

Risque and repetitive... maybe some things can work on screen as well as in a recording. =) Truth be told, this song was a bastard to do (by far the hardest Nirvana song I've done), and varying 3 of the 9 identical choruses was about all I could manage at the time... and without getting a case of rhymitis.
