The Lyrics

I can't stand kids. Crazy little buggers. Therefore: parody!
They're always crying loud
Hear them from across town
Why'd I have to be the someone
Who must babysit them now
They just run around making arses of themselves
Wish I was lonely now
Without their whining cries
I'm just hopin', but it's hopeless
Wreckin' my back yard, looks like a war zone, right
Like dogs, diggin' lots of ditches, geez

Well, I always try and skip town
Somewhere where I can't be found
When they come around

They have been here before
That's why I have no door
They're such whingers, candy bingers, wielding toasters they're hair singers
They always knock me down because they're little shites
I'm readin' by a light
They ask to play all night
I then yell out when I find out that they've broken my TV
I try to tell them off, but they start a food fight

When I hear that they are in town
My spine, a shiver runs down
Soon they'll come around

(Solo nearly unheard over the little brats being...well, little brats)

Herding those little bastards 'round
Stupid nephews, so I frown
When they come around
If they come around
Hope I'm not around
Hate it when they're 'round
I'm quite proud of the triple-rhyme sub in the second verse. It just hit me and I was like "That's brilliant!" That's "singers" as in "singe" as opposed to "sing", BTW.

Seems we share the same feelings about kids, but your self-therapy here is smarter than mine was, because you used a song people probably know well enough to comment on, whereas I didn't:

Not my favorite Green Day song, but you did a great job describing little brats that everyone knows. Nice job!

That whinger/binger/singer couplet was inspired, even if it didnt make too much sense in the parody's context...high marks all around nonetheless.

This one was good but with all the other good parodies this round has to offer it's going to be tough to pick which one is the best. I can totally relate to this (now more than ever being a Videographer at a camp full of annoying little kids)

(Artistry) I used to be a camp counselor as well, and the younger kids can get a little crazy sometimes, so I completely get this one. Great work, really funny

I have a softer spot for kids now that I have one of my own running around. Nicely done.

(Artistry) As Bill Cosby says, "All children are brain damaged". Hang in there, they'll grow up eventually.

Kids do drive me nuts. . .they may "grow up" Rex, but people keep creating MORE--Its like Barbie Dolls--AAAAAHHHHH . It was good TCOP, this a classic Green Day song, not over the top funny, but God do I agree with the sentiment
Max Power - September 15, 2012 - Report this comment
People would try to excuse them by saying "Kids are kids" and spoil the heck out of them. But once they grows up, you get yourself a bunch of self-entitled brats.

Ugh!!! Hate kids! Some kids are great with others I want to shove an ice-pick through my skull.

I liked the triple rhyme too. I noticed it right off.

Yep, had to be there, had to do that. Forced babysitting's for the birds.
Peregrin - September 24, 2012 - Report this comment
W/X: I liked it, having had ones of my own who are now grown up. You know the best part when other kids play up now? I can just sit back and think "I don't have to be accountable for them". Good work Porfle!

When Porfle means Conq. It's like when no means yes!

Poor fella. Quite a hectic scene. My favorite line: "They always knock me down because they're little..."

Love Green Day, love the OS, love this spoof! Great work!

(ABC) Almost all of my work experience has been with young children, so I totally understand where you're coming from. This was so funny. And I love Greenday, so any chance I get to listen to them, is awesome!
