The Lyrics

OK, I'm the first to admit the pacing in this is a tad off, but it still fits the original pretty well.
The Rocket's on the mound, sees three hundred
But his arm is gettin' tired, gotta call on the bullpen
So they call on Juan, what do they get
Eric Karros hits a shot that hasn't landed yet
He feels like screaming but he sulks instead
I hope blowin' this milestone stays in his head

Keep on blowin' Roger's big chance (4x)

They let Mike Stanton get away, and Jeff Nelson too
And Mendoza jumped the ship for the Fenway crew
But Karsay's always gettin hurt and Hammond's past his prime
And the way Osuna's pitching has to be a crime
Well that's one more dud to relieve the game and choke
Can't we get somebody good like Gagne, Smoltz, or Foulke

Keep on blowin' Roger's big chance (4x)

Roger gives it one more shot, next Friday night
Let's hope his arm's recovered and he feels alright
And if the Yankees lead and Roger needs relief
Just tell him to suck it up and it will save him grief
Gotta get his three hundreth, gotta win one more game
His crowning achievement for the Hall of Fame

Keep on blowin' Roger's big chance (4x)

Despite being furious over Saturday's game, I thought this was good. But note: Mendoza ain't doin' so hot for the Boston Red Faces, and Stanton's goose looks cooked in Flushing, so they probably wouldn't be doing any better in The Bronx.
