Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

(sung in Bush's perspective)
Would I lie to you?
Would I lie for your money?
Now would I say something that wasn't true?
I'm asking you people
Would I lie for you?

My friends... know what's in store
They know what we're... fighting for
We're in Iraq
To settle scores
While the world is...
Walking out the door

Believe me... I'll fake it fake it...
Believe me... I'll take it take it

Would I lie to you?
Would I lie for your money?
Now would I say something that wasn't true?
I'm asking you people
Would I lie for you?

No debate... just intervention
In your face... all deception
I'm the biggest fake
That much is true
Had all you can take?
Still deceiving you...

Believe me... I'll fake it fake it...
Believe me... I'll take it take it

Would I lie to you?
Would I lie for your money?
Now would I say something that wasn't true?
I'm asking you people
Would I lie?

Would I lie to you?
Would I lie for your money?
Now would I say something that wasn't true?
I'm asking you people
Would I lie for you?

My friends... will sponsor wars
All my cabinet... is corporate whores
Just pack your bags
With peace unsure
Watch Rice talking
Lying to you more

Believe me... watch me... watch me
Believe me... watch me... watch me

Would I lie to you?...

Bush is such a bad speaker. Did you see him last night? "The Iraqi people don't like being occupied. I wouldn't be happy either if I was occupied." When asked if he had make any mistakes regarding 9/11 he looked like a deer in headlights for about 20 seconds and then said "I'm sure something will come to me in a minute"

DKTOS, but I've seen you commenting on the work of others a lot recently, so I'm gonna give your songs list a visit to see make up for my DKTOS.

Are you serious, Laurence? Man, I wish I had seen that... Maybe Kerry really does stand a chance this November. I would hope the American public would feel stupid re-electing a man that speaks like a child.

Thanks 2nz :) I'll check out your stuff too then

This has never happened to me before... I know NONE of the original songs you have chosen to parody... and there are severe vote shortages on most of them... Something must be done. Don't worry, starting next Monday, things will change... I hope...

Big Mac, leave this to me ;c).

Brilliant! Did you SEE Bush on TV last night? My 12 year old sister LIES better than that. He don't have a CLUE what he's gonna do in November when they kick his punk ass out...

Thanks again 2nz... LOL... The funny thing is... A lot of the songs I picked were pretty popular in their day... You've never heard "Breakdown," "Criminal," or "Don't Lose My Number"? hmmm... What music genres/eras are you familiar with? I'll see if I can pick a song to parody from one of them.....

Thanks Syncronos... :) I really do wish that I had seen that speech, but I don't actually watch much TV... I suppose I could probably find it somewhere on the net. And yeah, I hope we kick his "punk ass" out of office too. By the way, I've enjoyed a lot of your songs as well, like "Bush's Son" and "Computer Virtual Insanity."

Well, I'm 21 now, and I can't stand the pop-music that I grew up with in the late 80's-90's. Actually, I'm not a big fan of pop in general. About 3.7 years ago, when I first started college, I got really into 70's rock, (The Who, Doors, Zepplin...) and I'm also a huge fan of Billy Joel music. Billy Joel is always fun to parody, if you haven't done any of his yet. And hey, thanks for checkin' my stuff out.

Thanks again for the votes. You don't play around, do you? Anyway, I'm gonna learn some new songs to give your stuff some votes. And then there's Monday...

2nz, thanks for the support... You happened to parody a lot of old classics (and overplayed recent stuff), so I was able to rate many of your songs easily. I tend to pick music from the 80s or 90s; a lot of it is pop, but some is grunge as well. Some of my favorite bands are more obscure though (like New Order), so I understand how it's hard for a lot of people to be familiar with some of my stuff.

You know... sometimes I'm pretty dense... lol... I think I just now got what you meant by "Monday." Appreciation week, eh? lol... Thanks 2nz...

Mcphisto - Good job! 5's. It looks like you got the same two "1-ners" I got for my "Astral Weeks" parody of about Bush the other day. Oh, well. Glad to see 2nz's making you the "Appreciation Week" choice. He made a good one. 2nz - didn't really you were only 21!
Serafina - April 17, 2004 - Report this comment
Good one! I enjoyed every line of it; my vote is 5-5-5.

Your most welcome, Mr. Mac, in regards to your April 14 comment. I'm so late on my votes, being the lazy college guy I was the last couple of weeks. My finals all went well and now I'll try to learn some new songs to give you some quality looks. Speaking of which, this is excellent and your pacing is not only high quality, but repeatedly high-quality from parody to parody. Very good work all around, man. I hope to see you in the competitions on the message board, if you haven't started entering stuff already.

Competitions? Oh yeah... I forgot about those... Well, now that I'm in the midst of my U2 parody spree, I'll see what I can contribute....
