The food in the military galleries have much improved since then. However the mess crew tend to slack off and serve some slop on the weekends. Then again, most personnel who ain't on duty tend to go to town anyway to eat on weekends, usually. And using churlish booger-brained ethnic epithets like 'Jap' isn't kosher now. The Armed Forces have all types of people, they don't put up with 8th grade level words like that.
