| Parody Song Title: | "Grandma's Stove" |
| Parody Written by: | Lionel Mertens |
When her buns rise up in her cozy kitchen nook
Long before rooster crows
All us kids start waking while grandmother cooks
With flour on her nose
The goodies that's she's fixed smell great
And us kids can hardly wait
As we gather 'round Grandma's Stove
Oh, Grandma's Stove
Well, her dishes are delicious
They, sure are scrumptious
She’s won blue ribbons for years
While the chicken get its pluckin’
And corn its shucking
There’s a clucking in her ears
And before Grandpoppa says grace
We all jockey to get a taste
We jockey ‘bout our Grandma’s Stove
Oh, Grandma’s Stove
And every day there’s a new found yummy
By ways of a home made lentil soup
To tantalize our tummies
We’re one clamoring group
When we start to taste our grandma’s delights
And she’ll out cook a woman half her age
Judging by County Fairs
Yeah, she’s always cookin’ up a feast
Singing ‘bout Grandma’s Stove
Oh, Grandma’s Stove
Long before rooster crows
All us kids start waking while grandmother cooks
With flour on her nose
The goodies that's she's fixed smell great
And us kids can hardly wait
As we gather 'round Grandma's Stove
Oh, Grandma's Stove
Well, her dishes are delicious
They, sure are scrumptious
She’s won blue ribbons for years
While the chicken get its pluckin’
And corn its shucking
There’s a clucking in her ears
And before Grandpoppa says grace
We all jockey to get a taste
We jockey ‘bout our Grandma’s Stove
Oh, Grandma’s Stove
And every day there’s a new found yummy
By ways of a home made lentil soup
To tantalize our tummies
We’re one clamoring group
When we start to taste our grandma’s delights
And she’ll out cook a woman half her age
Judging by County Fairs
Yeah, she’s always cookin’ up a feast
Singing ‘bout Grandma’s Stove
Oh, Grandma’s Stove

My fave topic choice for the day. I enjoyed my grandma's cooking as well. However, I only have one surviving grandparent left and she's in the Philippines. I miss her staying at our place a long time ago when me and my bro were growing up. I lost my grandfather on both sides of the fam and grandma on my dad's side. Our grandma would cook our meals and clean our houses. This would also be perfect for an early Thanksgiving theme which is coming up next month! 5 Granny Apple Pies, 5 Turkey's, and 5 Grandma's Comfort Soup fresh from her kitchen (stove)!
Nicely evocative.
Yeah people from the Philipines are a very loving people. Thanks Christie for your comments and votes. Thank to you as well Mr. Barry.
