The Lyrics

When you’re teary. . .
creep and crawl.
You fear your car might die
as it starts to stall.

The Jersey side
is always rough,
but now it’s near shut down.
Why me?! Bridge broken, trouble crossing—
there’s no workaround.
Why me?! Bridge broken, trouble crossing. . .
cannot get downtown.

There’s no roundabout
to another street.
The evening crawl is hard;
all drivers are screwed.

I can’t take heart
in this parking lot.
Here pain is all I’ve found.
Why me?! Bridge broken, trouble crossing;
on the dash I pound.
Why me?! Bridge broken, trouble crossing.
Best forget downtown!

Wails on shrieking horns,
wails pitched high.
When the time comes to dine
I’ll be steaming in the fray.

Steamed now, I whine.
Will I reach the end
before two-thousand nine?!

Why me?! Bridge broken, trouble crossing. . .
to one lane from nine.
Why me?! Bridge broken, trouble crossing. . .
to my head my 9 [mm].

9 is aimed at wrong head.

Enjoyed the word play on the title, as I'm sure Gov. Christie did.

Glad that you dropped-by again JAB! This place gets crazy when you are absent! 555 for the bridge songs. I just did one for Monday. My fave part is the end with the 9 [mm]... have I rubbed off on you a little? ;-)
