well I was diggin last night
( I need all those geraniums, man)
I was diggin for you babe...
they said I got involved with a shrubbery
that was due to blossom june or july on the main street

I didn't believe it

I need all the geraniums man,
and when the garden show man finally assured me
well I knew,
you was involved with some shrubbery,
that was due to blossom in June or July in the main street

so I yelled out..
I need all those geraniums, man!
and the fertilizer came along on the side

we went to town it was flowery, and
we swung all over that big tall tree on the main street

I looked there, and to my despair,
it was a five leaf clover, all squished in the road
doo doo doo doodoo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo do
I always said now the time has come, to plant all those
geraniums in front.. oh no... this can't be so

and then it ocurred to me, it couldnt be bad
petunias were bad, geraniums too,
and the fertilizer we throw
just couldn't cut it no more ,
use on the lawn...
