Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

I know, I already did a song for her birthday. And I won't deny that she's worthy of a second. I wasn't planning on it, but suddenly the words just came to me, and you know how it is when you're touched by The Muse. Not, in this particular case, to be confused with the Princess Herself.
(long, long instrumental opening)

There's a Lady, I'm sure
all her glitter is gold
and today is the birthday of Arwen.
When she gets there, she knows
if the stores all are closed
with a word all the salesclerks will open.

Ooh-woo-woo, ooh-woo-woo
ooh-woo-woo, ooh-woo-woo
and today is the birthday of Arwen.

There's a sign on the wall
but she wants to be sure
'cause you know sometimes stores have a clearance.
High price she will not brook
and her sale-song she sings.
Sometimes all of those thoughts are misgiven.

Ooooh, and it makes me wonder...

Ooooh, and it makes me wonder...

There's a feeling I get
when I look to the west
and the mountains around her are rocky.
In my thoughts I have seen
puffs of smoke and of cream
and a flying horse with hobbit jockey.

Ooooh, and it makes me wonder...

Ooooh, and it makes me wonder...

And it's whispered that soon
if we all play her tune
then her love will bloom for ever after.
And a new day will dawn
for the boys who rake her lawn
and the Shire will echo with laughter!

If there's a diesel at the rest stop
don't be alarmed now.
He's doing favors for the Elf Queen.
Yes, there are two paths you can go by
but in the long run
you'd best do as she orders you now, son.

And it makes me wonder...

Your heart is breaking and it won't go
in case you don't know
the Shire's calling you to join her.
Dear Lady, she who makes the wind blow
and did you know
her birthday this year is on our weekend.

(guitar break)

And as we wind on down the road
our shadows taller than the Elves
there walks a Lady we all know
who stumbles once to give a show!
Her everything still turns to gold!
And if you listen very hard
her love will come to you at last
when all are one under her rule!
So pay your tribute, be no fool!

(guitar close)

And to-day-ay is
the bir-irth-day...

of Arwen!
After all, no musical act has been more Tolkeinian than Led Zeppelin was. Just as well.

Why the ones? Did I miss something? Anyway, give her a $555 gift certificate and direct her to the elevator to women's wear.

Well, in my recent "Things I Would Not Recommend," I mentioned "Giving ones to parodies done by Arwen." I didn't say anything about parodies ABOUT her. Maybe somebody thought this was overkill. Or maybe someone just doesn't like me. I can live with that... but can she? More importantly, when she goes after the ones-givers, can THEY live with it?

:) I can't imagine a reason for someone not to like you, Mister Pacholek...unless it is out of jealousy for your fabulous job of spoiling me with TWO birthday parodies this year. Thanks...you know I love them...=)

I gotta admit, I'm not too familiar with the original song...but I figured I'd read it anyway. I also voted 5-5-5 on it.

Happy birthday Arwen!!

OK, I can understand why someone might not like my political or sports parodies. But who DARES give 7 ones to an Arwen tribute? Who doth DARE?!? ... Bernard? Was it YOU?
