Long day at work, getting really hungry, the P.A. system playing some horrible disco tunes, then Sir Elton comes on, and I swear I heard "Cheesesteak" instead of "Freedom." Had to do this one. This is for all the guys at Pat's Steaks at South 9th Street and Passyunk Avenue in South Philly. A cheese-whiz/mushroom/wit -- that's a steak with cheese-whiz and mushrooms, wit' onions (if you don't want onions, say "wit'out") -- and a Pepsi, best seven bucks you ever spent. And cheaper than the food at the ballpark, a great warmup for a Phillies game.
I used to be a veggie guy, you know. It didn't seem so right
to fry up something that was flesh and bone.
I used to be a heart-healthy-eating one, but the times have changed.
I gotta push some cal'ries past my gums.
