The Lyrics
Inspired by Chris Bodily's "William Shatner Sings..." series (mostly Britney Spears songs), this is the fourth in a series of Seventies classics that also includes Perry, in character as Chandler Bing of "Friends," singing "Piano Man," "Born to Run" and "Heartache Tonight." Like the Shatner series, Chandler's phrasing wreaks havoc... WITH the pacing, but I'm hoping enough of you liked "Friends" to get the jokes. And, yes, I'm aware not only that Elton sang a song called "Friends," but also that Lisa Kudrow, as Phoebe Buffay, once sang, "Hold me closer, Tony Danza" to Elton's "Tiny Dancer," which has inspired two Amiright parodies so far.
