he was a little too small coulda used a few pounds..
nice big rack though, points all around
he was a real nice beauty with big moose eyes
those points all his own.. way up high

waiting on a big bull, no ones yet to choose

can't wait for moose meat steak and stews
waitin for the right moose in the summertime
in the sweet summertime

don't like to hunt, oh no, far from it
would sooner watch reruns of wallace and grommet
sitting here stiff and restless and bored
talkin to the Lord
I got away every chance I could
to the duck blind, the valley or the thick dry woods
I killed one, it near killed me..

trying to stay warm and dry and loose
waitin on the right moose
in the summertime
and oh the wonder,
saw the clearing
and heard the hoo0fs a-thunder
heard the hoof a-thunder

caught my eyes my ears, that thunder
how big is this one, I sat and wondered
jammed a cartridge up and cocked the rifle too
shot him dead and it went right through
now it just don't look as big this moose
strange, twas the right moose
I got him closing in
