The Lyrics

As part of the tribute competition, here's a little ditty I whipped up for Cat. Note to ChuckyG: this is all in good fun.
[intro]

I know an author and she goes by name of Cat
She wants some Matter Horns (her range is kinda flat!)
I've seen the time pass by; how quickly she has grown
Nearly unstoppable - at just sixteen years old!

I see a line of "Cars"; the true love of the Cat*
You might think it weird? No! (well, just a little whack!)
'least Rick's not a chowder head, or worse, a Guhlee Man
No time to take a paws for way too much time on hand!*

I take a closer look and see a frisky Cat
And like the real ones there's so much that makes her mad!
Shower time, ideas came, and poor Bush got slammed by Cat...
...best stop that joke right there before I wind up slapped!

She's written satire exposing those crazy cults,
A "wreck" of a song about Bode and how he choked
If you look hard enough, you'll see a spoof of N00Bs
But no one could miss that yo mama's butt is huge!

I see some candy and I think it's a Kit-Kat
I'll bet that with that name you prob'ly catch some flack.**
I'm almost out of time here for my feline roast
So I will wrap this up: "For Cat, here is a toast!"

[sound of cats meowing uncontrollably as I use the
electric wine bottle opener and pour cyber drinks]

One day she'll be famous!
Name is Cat!
Cat's alright!
That we know!
Keep on making puns!

Keep feeding her 9 Lives!

She has entertained us, shamed us: heinous!
Lady Cat!

Yeah!

[more meowing sounds for fade out]

OH MY GOD JACK I LOVE YOU!!! This is flat-out BRILLIANT!!! With all the hyperlinking you did to my parodies, that more than forgives the "paws" line, har har. But still. This is so, so, so, great.

Don't have time at the moment to do all the hyper-linking, but I hope to later in the day. Great job, Jack, and a fine tribute to one of the best young writers to hit the boards here in the time I've been around. Geez...was just thinking...if I add BOTH your years together I'd still have to add another teen-ager to equal my age...good thing I have a sense of humor about being an old fart...might be a depressing thought otherwise...But it's also fun and encouraging to be posting and commenting on a site where folks from 16 (or younger) to mid-twenties (or so) and on up to 56 (and MAYBE some older) can have fun together.

Oh Red Ant...you are amazing! This is a WONDERFUL tribute to Cat...it's no mystery why she's gushing over it. And I really wanted to do hyperlinking in my parody for Jeff...but didn't have the first clue how to do it. I wish I'd asked you before I submitted...=( Oh well...excellent job here!

Ditto on the hyperlinking that Arwen mentioned and the gushing that Cat did! Another fine tribute to a kid that deserves it. 555

Very funny, and professional "spoof-bute"

We'll feed Cat 9 Lives, while we feed you 5 Fives, and you have to do another parody about cats don't you? Just the luck of the draw...
Stuart McArthur - August 18, 2006 - Report this comment
masterfully done, Jack, and a clever (and time-consuming) idea to include all the links (very Tommyturtlish) - 555

A wonderful tribute to our resident teenius (that's as in "teen genius", a new word coined and copyrighted by Kristof Robertson!) Loved the hyperlinks; how the hell d'ya do that? I was going to say purr-fect, but JAB beat me to it. 555

Hey thanks everybody for the cool comments. I posted a thread on the messageboard on how to hyperlink.

I loved the OS when I listened to it for your "Name Is Jack'. And I still love it now, even though the parody now tributes Cat, and not yourself ;). Now I wish I had hyperlinked for my tribute to Rick...it's a bit too late now. Oh, well. Nice work.
Jeff Reuben - September 05, 2006 - Report this comment
Nice job, I like the links. Very well written, I like the yo mama line.
Arwen - September 05, 2006 - Report this comment
TRIBUTE...still a little jealous of the linking...and of your ability to write...; ) Excellent job!
