The Lyrics

Surprisingly-HQ (for an oldie) OS video, nicely-edited screenshots, here.

Song being reworked: "Friday On My Mind".

Well, Monday, you know I feel so bad
It seems ev'ryone's a jerk
Tuesday's gonna pick my mood right up
And see my old man after work

But it seems like Wednesday just don't go
And Thursday's running too darn slow- -ow- -ow- -ow- -ow- -ow- -ow- -ow- -ow
I've got Friday on my mind
My girl, I dig her so!

Friday-night date in the city
My babe's so pretty a sight
She looks fine; I'll spend my bread and then I'll lose my head with her tonight

Well, next week will bring five more days to drag a*s
It bugs me like nothing could
Always working for the rich boss-man
But some day, I'll make it good

I might be mad at work today
Tomorrow, so happy a cha- -a- -a- -a- -a- -a- -a- -a- -ap
I'll have Friday on my brain
And a girl sittin' on my lap!

"Cat" out-of-sight is my kitty
A perfect picture to see
When I'm downtown with my baby: lose my head; she gives it back to me!

[interlewed]

Oooooohhhhhhhhhhhh

Never uptight, is my baby
And spares the strictures, does she
In the nitty-gritty city, there's a little bit o' t**ty for me

Whoooa,
Monday through Thursday, a rough week
Then, fin'lly, Friday, it be
We'll be hugging; don't mean "maybe", in the back seat of my SUV

(repeat until they both faint - uh, "fade")

Thanks to "Carol Culver" for a highly-entertaining show as TOS played at YT.

Don't be so quick in that SUV's back seat, TT--I think it's her time of the week.... Funny stuff and yet another in your expanding oeuvre of,er, mons'ter 'mashes'!?

I'm picturing you decapitated and your girlfriend handing you a replacement cranium. I'm sure that's what you meant by losing your head and her giving it to you. Ha, ha. This is also the first rock & or roll song to use the word "strictures".

If the SUV's rockin', don't bother knockin'... 555 :D

Mark Scotti: Of course, that was considered, but there really aren't enough good choices for each of the twelve months. (Do "Calendar Girl" twelve times? :) So you'll just have to be surprised. ;D Thanks for v/c!

TJC: TT's never let that minor issue stop him, period. (Got the song plugs to prove it, but won't. Enough for one day already!) Thanks for v/c.

Patrick: Of course! What else *could* it be?? ... Good spot, but TT did slip one by in Wednesday's smoosh-up, "My Guy" to "My Love",
http://www.amiright.com/parody/60s/petulaclark44.shtml

My guy: I'm stickin' like a letter's stamp
That's licked ev'ry night:

Play on TOS "I'm stickin' to my guy like a stamp to a letter" -- but "licked ev'ry night" snaked right on through, heh!
Thanks for v'c, and did you mean "first *parody*"? I DK any actual song that uses "strictures". Smooshes can't be perfectly literal; you capture the jissed -- I mean, the gist, while including as much as you can of TOS, as you did at yours. Just a match to TOS "picture". But thanks for noticing that, and for v/c.

Upton O'Goode: You said it! ... Comment undoubtedly inspired by eponymous author, Upton Sin-c-lair... thanks for rockin' v/c. :-D

Just caught the first 4, and will try to catch the other 4 tomorrow. Had never heard of Spanky Gang, let alone the song - reminded of Mamas & Papas.

Andy P. Now that you mention it, the two do groups do have some similarity in style. Thanks for taking the time to check out the Octosmoosh, and for v/c.

(thought it was the preview window that was broken. Nope -- TT's brain is broken. So, what else is new?
