Song Parodies -> Upon the Goof

Original Song Title:

"Up On the Roof"

Original Performer:

The Drifters

Parody Song Title:

"Upon the Goof"

Parody Written by:

Michael Pacholek

Originally written by Gerry Goffin and Carole King. Kudos to William Tong, who today turned "Under the Boardwalk," the sequel to the Drifters' song "Up On the Roof" (Oh, when the sun goes down and burns the tar up...") into "Bungled the Cakewalk."
When this whole world starts getting me down
and Georgie acts like a mental case
I climb way upon on my horse that's so high
and in his head I spy a lot of space.
He's a goof, unpeaceful as can be.
And there, the world below's in poverty.

Let me tell ya now
When I come home feeling tired and beat
I think 'bout 2004 and his defeat.
I get away from his hustling lies
and all his rat-fink guys out on Wall Street.
He's a goof, the biggest one I know.
And you just have to vote and let him go.
Let's vote upon the goof!

(instrumental break)

At night, Baghdad's a war show on TV.
But Georgie's still screwed the economy.
Let me tell you now
Right smack dab in the middle of his term
he's gotta squirm to know '04's not steal-proof.
And soon this world will be getting him down.
There won't be no Term 2 for Georgie the goof!
Georgie the goof!
Oh, come on, Kerry!
Gotta beat that Georgie!
