Song Parodies -> "Gravy"

Original Song Title:

"Crazy"

 (MP3)
Original Performer:

Patsy Cline

Parody Song Title:

"Gravy"

Parody Written by:

Michael Pacholek

The Lyrics

The original was written by Willie Nelson -- being from Texas, where they know a thing or two about food, he might appreciate this.
Gravy, that gravy is making me hungry.
That gravy, that gravy is making me blue.
You knew that potatoes were what I wanted.
But the butter is all that I'm getting from you.

Pouring, why is that boat now not pouring?
Wond'ring, when will I get that brown goo?

Gravy, those poor dry taters need something new.
For gravy I'm trying, for gravy I'm crying.
For gravy I'm asking you.

Pouring, why is that boat now not pouring?
Wond'ring, when will I get that brown goo?

Gravy, those poor dry taters need something new.
For gravy I'm trying, for gravy I'm crying.
For gravy I'm asking... you.
Do I get extra credit for knowing who Patsy Cline was? Or does the original having been Ross Perot's 1992 theme song take that away?

There was a recording of this song by someone who sounded just like Patsy Cline. I sure would like to find a copy of the recording. Don Wade and Roma use to always play it on the radio in Chicago years ago. Does anyone have a copy of the recording? It was fantastic!
