I was a fairly sentient being back when Gary Lewis and the Playboys were cranking out hits, so of course I knew the connection between Jerry and Gary. Thing is that was never played up in the media, because that would NOT have helped Gary's career at all. Jerry Lewis was about as uncool and unhip to the boomers as anyone could possibly be ....... In fact, I was making reference to one of the uncoolest thing Jerry Lewis did -- refer to the MS kids that he raised money for every year as 'his" kids or "Jerry's" kids. That actually was, for a time, one of the worst insults a kid could hurl at someone else -- call him one of "Jerry's kids"
