The Lyrics

I found out too late at night to dd this yesterday, so here it is today. Edward Moore Kennedy, 1932-2009, requiescat in pace. I'm also aware that the legendary hockey player of the same name, a.k.a. "Teeder" of the 1940s and '50s Toronto Maple Leafs, died earlier this month.
(instrumental opening)

Teardrops are fallin' now for Ted.
I found out this morning when I got out of my bed.
Well this doesn't sit.
Those
teardrops are fallin' now for Ted, they keep fallin'.

He was Jack and Bobby's brother, and Joe's son.
And I said I really liked the way he got things done.
In his Senate job.
Those
teardrops are fallin' now for Ted, they keep fallin'.

But there's one thing I know:
The right-wingers, they blurb it:
Didn't swerve it.
For all the good he did, he don't deserve it.

Teardrops are fallin' now for Ted.
The best tribute to him, there are fewer States of Red.
More of them are Blue.
Those
teardrops are fallin' now for Ted, they keep fallin'.
Ted Kennedy
walks into history.

(instrumental break)

It won't be long 'til happiness is his, relief-ly.

Teardrops are fallin' now for Ted.
The best tribute to him, there are fewer States of Red.
More of them are Blue.
Those
teardrops are fallin' now for Ted, they keep fallin'.
Ted Kennedy
walks into history.

(instrumental fadeout)
I think he'd most appreciate it with the words he delivered for his brother Bobby: He "need not be idealized, or enlarged in death beyond what he was in life; to be remembered simply as a good and decent man, who saw wrong and tried to right it, saw suffering and tried to heal it, saw war and tried to stop it. Those of us who loved him and who take him to his rest today, pray that what he was to us and what he wished for others will some day come to pass for all the world. As he said many times, in many parts of this nation, to those he touched and who sought to touch him: Some men see things as they are and say why. I dream things that never were and say why not." (Words borrowed from George Bernard Shaw.)

You've beaten me to the tribute punch with this one, Michael...I had tributer block, only song I could think of to parody was, "Teddy Bear" by Elvis...and for this solemn occasion, it didn't seem quite right...good job, on this

Not for us, they aren't.

Our laboratory studies indicate that the vehicle was traveling140 mph when it went off the bridge. The evidence? That's how fast it would have had to have been going for Mary Jo's panties to have ended up in the glove box.

Driving cats...

Yeah, he's drove a cat, no wonder they went off the bridge. That explains why cheetahs have short lifespan as well.

Nor for us.

You take that back! And hush up the rest. Here's $500K, a private jet, and the keys to a condo in St. Maarten.

And several barrels of Jack Daniels...or was it Guinness?

Vacuum cleaner setting, I happen to like Jack Daniels as well. Have you tried Dissaronno liqurur? That is pretty cool. Not a fan of Guniness though dude.
