Original Song Title:

"Raindrops Keep Fallin' On My Head"

Original Performer:

B.J. Thomas

Parody Song Title:

"I'm In Love With a Figurehead"

Parody Written by:

Michael Pacholek

The Lyrics

Dedicated to guess who. No, not "my ex" Catherine Zeta-Jones: She played Empress Ekaterina II of Russia (Catherine the Great), who was no figurehead. This one's just a nominal princess, but in our hearts, she still has "A Throne Again, Naturally."
I'm in love with a figurehead.
And she's an elf whose feet don't quite reach to end of her bed.
She just don't quite fit.
But
in love with princess figurehead, I keep falling.

So I just did me some writing of a song.
And I said some things she took as being very wrong.
Said Diesel's a slob.
That
angered the princess figurehead, handbag's falling.

But there's one thing I know.
Emotions sent to meet me fall discreetly.
It won't be long 'til elf kisses step up to greet me.

I'm in love with a figurehead.
It's too bad she lives far away in a State that's Red.
Crying's still for me.
But
in love with princess figurehead, I keep falling.
Her love is free.
It's her shoes that cost me.

(instrumental break)

It won't be long
'til elf and Jedi meet so heat-ly!

I'm in love with a figurehead.
It's too bad she lives far away in a State that's Red.
Crying's still for me.
But
in love with princess figurehead, I keep falling.
Her love is free.
It's her shoes that cost... me.

(instrumental fadeout)
Somebody once told me that I suck. No, I don't. I suck UP. Big difference.

One of my favorite things about checking parodies is the CDs that are listed along the side of them. I NEVER knew what BJ Thomas looked like. Go figure.

OH WHO AM I KIDDING...?

My FAVORITE thing about checking parodies, Mr. Pacholek, is when I find that you have taken time out from your political firestorms to pen a lovely little gem like this for me. =) I love it, Michael...made my whole morning! Thank you!!! =) =) =) All is right in the world.

I had a great idea set up for my 900th parody... then I realize I hit the mark with yesterday's submissions. Oh well, let's make this one the official 900th.

What Arwen said about refreshing versatility outside the political arena. Nice meter and internal rhymes. Five raindrops on head.
