The Lyrics

PUB CALLED “THE SETTING SUN”

There is a pub in Milton Keynes;
They call “The Setting Sun”.
And I like to go there every day
When all my work is done.

My father was a sailor;
He married in his teens.
My mother lived her whole life through,
There in Milton Keynes.

Now the thing I found a sailor likes
Is a girl in every port.
And my poor old Mum was mortified
The day that he got caught.

My mother loved her children,
She taught us all to have fun.
Now she spends her evenings with me
In the pub called “The Setting Sun”.

We both have five pints then a chaser.
Finish with one for the road.
Then stagger back across the fields
To find our small abode.

Well, there is a pub in Milton Keynes;
They call “The Setting Sun”.
And I like to go there every day,
When all my work is done.
