The Lyrics

OK, the first thing I have to make clear is that I'm not criticising The Offpsring, or this song... well, I am, but in a joking sense. If you look at my other parodies you'll see they are actually one of my favorite bands. Just a little humor here, but I do think the lyrics on "Splinter" aren't as strong as some of the older albums.
No-one really knows there's a hole in my new CD
Every single day I get paid, it's distracting me
Even though I try, I can't write a song that sounds new!

"Staring at the Sun" wasn't on, our last CD
Write a couple songs, not too long, it's taken me
Even though I try, I can't find the river of new
But still we just sold it to you!

We're just saying: "get up, get up, get up, get up"
Sense not making: "get up, get up, get up"

Every single word is the first one that comes to me
Even all the rhymes, like this time, it's "me" with "me"
I never really know what really I'm supposed to go do
I can't write a song that sounds new!

No more thinking! (Fed up! Fed up! Fed up! Fed up!)
I'm just winging (Fed up, fed up, fed up!)

I want you to go, bring your bro, get our new CD
Cover up the crap with a good song like "Da Hui"
You know we really tried, I can't do anymore about you

Yeah, the bag's in the river
Yeah, (but) we're just gonna give'r

I guess I'll never know if this'll sound appealling to you
I can't write a song that sounds new
I can't write a song that sounds new!
I can't write a song that sounds new!
I can't write a song that sounds new!

Yeah, this is an amazing song, and an amazing parody. Good song to do a cover of, too.
