The Lyrics

Why this song for the Robbie Williams round of Artistry? Because it was in Johnny English, an underrated film IMO.
A really nice fellow, soft as a marshmallow
I don't mean to imply that he's fat
But now he's gone all crazy, the details are hazy
So sudden, he's a twat

It's so unexpected, no-one could've guessed it
Wait a minute, just hold the phone
His smile is returning, he's stopped all the frowning
Has he got a "dickhead" control?

Normally he acts a clown
And ev'ryone wants him around
But no-one knows why now he frowns
'Cause today he's a jerk for no reason
Acts like his shit's made of gold...solid gold

I tell you I wouldn't have a clue
Why he's become a total douche
Now he's back to cutesy-poo
He's stopped being crass for no reason
Hugs all the people he's wronged...oh, thank God (that dick mode's off)

He's a decent sort, won't find him in court
Well, unless he's on the jury
But now he's gone and flipped his scone
That sentence was worded oddly
But the niceness has ended and he doesn't care
Why the switch to dick I don't know
Before he bludgeons me with a truncheon
The dope goes to "moe" mode

I'm puzzled, quite confuzzled
Why he's nice one minute then it goes
One sec he's lovely, next he's kickin' puppies
After he playfully beeped their wet nose (why?)

Always fun to be around
A grin that stretches sev'ral towns
But now that lunkhead can't be found
Been replaced with a dick for no reason
He's disrespectin' the old...'cause they're old

He changes back to that funny dude
Who'd never imply things 'bout you
Monty Python déjà vu
Oh crap! A bastard for no reason
No-one can tell which mode's gon...na be on

Now dick mode's on
Now dick mode's off
Now dick mode's on
Now dick mode's off
Now dick mode's on
Now dick mode's off
Now dick mode's on

Guy would never, ever shout
Poke him with sticks won't make a sound
But now he's wielding kids he found
'Cause he's being a douche for no reason
Leave the poor children alone...send 'em home

And no-one here has a bloody clue
We just do not know what to do
Dude's bipolar out the blue
Oh crap! He's a twat for no reason
It randomly switches on...off and on
"Monty Python déjà vu" is a reference to this skit. "Confuzzled" is a term from the film "Mary and Max" which means being confused and puzzled at the same time. And I know "moe" is meant to be pronounced "mo-eh" and not "mo" as I've implied, but it fits with all the "o" sounds of the original line.

You have this knack for writing these odd character studies. I would love to see more parodies from you where these characters actually get into some sort of specific situation. You have the wordplay ("confuzzled", wow) and the pacing...now bring it to the next level.

Agri - "Confuzzled" is from the stop-motion film Mary and Max. Pretty good film, BTW. WATCH IT.

(Artistry) I liked it a lot, but I see what Aggy is saying too. This parody is more about the character's description, rather than something that character does. The character development is great, if you put said characters in an awkward or funny situation it would put these types of parodies over the top. Good, but like I said, could go somewhere better.

(Artistry) Or, a video could complement these lyrics nicely. It'd be interesting to see what the character is doing during the "mode on / mode off" verse.

(SOTM) see above ^^^ I feel the same as I did the first time I read this one. Good, but could go over the top.

(SOTM) It does take a lot to get LOL laughs out of me, but what I *can* say is that this parody was quite whimsical and the music makes the lyrics and subject matter all the more ironic. But I'm too much of a jerk to give you the fives you rightfully deserve. Just kidding, here you go! 555

He is a perfect candidate for "1,000 Ways to Die!". Good work!

Haha! I actually liked this one a lot! I kinda agree with Aggy here because I would love to see this guy in situations in which he goes from the nicest guy ever to a total arsehole. Such as the kicking puppies part.

SOTM: Someone needs to install a "jerk" switch on that guy, so people can"jerk" him on and off. ;-D Great parody! 555! ;-)
