Misheard Song Lyrics -> Stories -> Take That

Misheard lyrics (also called mondegreens) occur when people misunderstand the lyrics in a song. These are NOT intentional rephrasing of lyrics, which is called parody. For more information about the misheard lyrics available on this site, please read our FAQ.

This page contains a list of the songs that have stories about their misheard lyrics submitted.

Song names are sorted by first letter, excluding A and The. This is sorted by song title only, not by song title and performer. So if two different performers preformed the same song, you'll see misheard lyrics for both on the same page (provided the song title was spelt the same both times, and misheard lyrics have been submitted for both!).

Take That's, "Back for Good"
The Misheard Lyrics:
Got your lipstick marks along your coffee cup
The Real Lyrics:
Got your lipstick mark still on your coffee cup
The Story: I kept confusing myself which was right. - Submitted by: Cody Finke
Take That's, "I'd Wait for Life"
The Misheard Lyrics:
There's a science that's playing too loud
The Real Lyrics:
There's a silence that's playing too loud
The Story: Once again, why we hear "science" instead of "silence", and vice versa. - Submitted by: Cody Finke
Take That's, "It Only Takes A Minute"
The Misheard Lyrics:
So baby can’t you make it Justin Bieber time
The Real Lyrics:
So baby can’t you make me just a little time
The Story: I was playing on Xbox with some friends in a party while I had this playing in my headset. I had to do a double-take and may have been on cloud 9 leading up to it. - Submitted by: S.W.S.
Take That's, "Why Can't I Wake Up with You"
The Misheard Lyrics:
You're my wife, Milo
The Real Lyrics:
You're my life, my love
The Story: Once again, why we hear "Milo" instead of "my love" when it comes to songs. In this case, "Milo" is a man's name and not a woman's name, so it doesn't make sense for a wife. - Submitted by: Cody Finke
