Misheard Song Lyrics -> Stories -> Simple Plan

Misheard lyrics (also called mondegreens) occur when people misunderstand the lyrics in a song. These are NOT intentional rephrasing of lyrics, which is called parody. For more information about the misheard lyrics available on this site, please read our FAQ.

This page contains a list of the songs that have stories about their misheard lyrics submitted.

Song names are sorted by first letter, excluding A and The. This is sorted by song title only, not by song title and performer. So if two different performers preformed the same song, you'll see misheard lyrics for both on the same page (provided the song title was spelt the same both times, and misheard lyrics have been submitted for both!).

Simple Plan's, "I'd Do Anything"
The Misheard Lyrics:
You're the man for me
'Cause I know I won't forget you.
The Real Lyrics:
Will you remember me?
Cause I know I won't forget you.
The Story: You can pretty much guess how confused I was considering they were singing about girl's before. I asked someone at a birthday party. I'm never going to live this one down. - Submitted by: Laney
Simple Plan's, "I'm Just A Kid"
The Misheard Lyrics:
I just got did.
The Real Lyrics:
I'm just a kid.
The Story: I was riding in the car and my mom was listening to the song. She likes to pretend to be cool so she starts singing. She now realizes that my friends are in the car with me. So she starts singing and says, 'I just got DID!!!' All my friends started laughing. Even though it was really embarassing, I managed to laugh too. But none of my friends will let me live it down. So now every time I'm singing it in the car, I'll say,'I just got Did', and my mom will crack up. - Submitted by: Sara
Simple Plan's, "Perfect"
The Misheard Lyrics:
Happy Birthday
The Real Lyrics:
I can't be perfect.
The Story: My roommate swore that the last line of the verse was 'Happy Birthday',and now, although we know the real words, we still think the lead singer is wishing dear old dad a 'Happy Birthday'. - Submitted by: Serena
Simple Plan's, "Untitled"
The Misheard Lyrics:
I just wanna screw!
The Real Lyrics:
I just wanna scream!
The Story: Pierre has a very thick singing accent, sort of French. My mother and I were listening to this. Then she went, "I just wanna screw? Dude, this guy can't get any huh?" (My mom is a very cool mom) I, at that point, stopped belting it out to laugh the hardest I ever have in my life. - Submitted by: I'll Keep You My Dirty Little Mind
