Song names are sorted by first letter, excluding A and The. This is sorted by song title only, not by song title and performer. So if two different performers preformed the same song, you'll see misheard lyrics for both on the same page (provided the song title was spelt the same both times, and misheard lyrics have been submitted for both!).

Alligator Moon, I need your light.
The Real Lyrics:
Allegheny Moon, I need your light.
The Story: When I first heard this, I envisioned it being sung in a Southeastern US swamp area, because of the presumed alligator reference. Later I learned that Allegheny is a river in Pennsylvania, so the song's setting is probably far away from any alligators. - Submitted by: Carmen Stanley

The Story: I was very young when this song came out and of course didn't know the word 'fickle', nor did I know what 'sniggle grass' meant either, but that's what I heard! I went around singing it that way. - Submitted by: Dick Lancaster
