Misheard Lyrics -> Song -> W -> Wired For Sound

Misheard lyrics (also called mondegreens) occur when people misunderstand the lyrics in a song. These are NOT intentional rephrasing of lyrics, which is called parody. This page contains all the misheard lyrics for Wired For Sound that have been submitted to this site and the old collection from inthe80s started in 1996. For more information about the misheard lyrics available on this site, please read our FAQ.

Cliff Richard's, "Wired for Sound"
Misheard Lyrics:
Big, fat music - they're wired for sound
...
Go sit in the park and I'm gonna use it
...
I went from the needle to the plastic
...
I said: "You love me, but love means you must like what I like"
...
She said, "I'm not a girl you can own as a standby"
Original Lyrics:
If they've music they've wired for sound
...
Cassette in my pocket and I'm gonna use it
...
Power from the needle to the plastic
...
I said you love me then love means you must like what I like
...
She said, "I'm not a girl you put on at a stand by"
What sort of awkward lyric is "If they've music they're wired for sound" (very British). My lyrics are much better - eg. why does the writer say "Power from the needle to the plastic" when the revolution is about Walkmans/Walkmen? 'My man' has come off heroin to 'get into the plastic'!
Cliff Richard's, "Wired for Sound"
Misheard Lyrics:
I like toasties and I like sausages
Original Lyrics:
I like small speakers, I like tall speakers.
Cliff Richard's, "Wired for Sound"
Misheard Lyrics:
I was small boy who don't like history
Original Lyrics:
I was small boy who don't like his toys
