May 13
a parody of "Whatever It Is" by Zac Brown Band
"Rotten office fridge cleanup sends 7 to hospital" - I couldn't pass up the chance at this... I hope you like it. Here's the story at Yahoo News. http://tinyurl.com/stinkyfridge - Just to let you know what this is. I write parody songs and syndicate them to radio stations. I figured 'why not pull the curtain back and show what it is that I do.' Depending on the parody, the song gets written and recorded the same day (that's why I'm reading the lyrics). First I produce the music... then record the lyrics.

Misheard Lyrics Stories:

"Castaway"
Misheard Lyrics:
Say goodbye to peeping Tom
Original Lyrics:
Say goodbye to keeping time

Story about this misheard lyric by: Clint Darr

I was with my daughters the first time I heard the song and thought "What the heck!? Why would you say goodbye to peeping Tom??"

Nonsensical Song Lyrics:

"Goodbye In Her Eyes"
The Nonsensical Lyrics:
I would trade a thousand Babylons to be in her arms tomorrow.
Why They're Nonsensical:
Really? A thousand ancient cities? Why? For what purpose? I know it's a metaphor but what it means I have absolutely no idea. And when you listen to the whole song that line really doesn't fit with or relate to the rest of the lyrics at all. The only thing I can figure is it's meant to sound like some grand romantic gesture whatever it's supposed to be about. Maybe the writers wanted something that sounded great and got stuck and that's what they finally came up with. But it just ends up sounding weird and ridiculous.

What A Band is Best Known For (aside from their music):

"Eat and Greet Feasts"
Zac Brown has stated that, "I'm from Georgia and everone gathers around food in the South. I always thought it was sad that you couldn't get anything really good to eat at concerts, so we sit down with the fans before each show and eat a gourmet meal that we made for them."
